Hundreds of people have written books on how to make money using the Internet, and there are as many different methods as there are people writing about it, but one thing is constant, search engine traffic is free and converts into sales the best because this traffic is actively looking for what you offer, so you need to know how to be identified with the keywords your customer is using, and you need to rank for those keywords.
To quote that old ad we used to see on TV, I liked the product so much I bought the company. Actually I didn't, but I did become the business partner of the author Janet Smith, for the Spanish language version of her book and arranged for a translator in Málaga to translate it from English to Spanish.
Nomad's Guide to Make Money Online cuts right to the important issues, getting your website to the top of the search results and keeping it there so you can make money online, and what you'll learn is as valid for small niche sites as it is for larger portals.
I know the techniques in this book work because I use them every day for my own income generating methods, and I'm happy to say I don't go hungry ;-)
The Nomad's Guide to Make Money Online is a complete system, from beginning to end, that teaches and demonstrates finding hot keywords, to assessing your competition for them, and then building your website profile in the search engines. The intention is that after reading the book you will have a blueprint used by top earners to duplicate what they do.
Its purpose is to leverage the knowledge gained by the author, Janet Smith, a US$9,000 a month AdSense earner, and other top Internet Marketers such as Grizzly Brears (one of the top AdSense earners for several years), Courtney Tuttle (creator of the The Keyword Academy), and Vic Franqui (co-founder of The Keyword Academy, and owner of The Blogger Unleashed) and present their knowledge and experiences to you in a no-frills yet exhaustive manner.
Other top Internet Marketers like Trent Brownrigg (GR1Innovations and site flipper) and Allyn Hane (Blogger Illustrated) have endorsed this book, describing it as the most complete system for building an Internet business they've read. I endorse this book as well, and use it in all my one-on-one training programs.
Janet's writing style means you'll have no trouble following along, though the book is exhaustive at over 170 pages, but this is needed to make sure a blueprint for success is adequately presented. Many authors take shortcuts leaving you asking more questions than they answer, the Nomad's Guide is complete in every detail.
Working online is a lonely business, and yes, it can be disheartening at times as well, so the right mindset is essential. That doesn't mean you need a certain personality type, it means you need to be committed to creating a location independent business, and for that you need systems and routines that encourage success. Chapter one covers several tips used by digital nomads around the world so that work gets done whilst still allowing them to travel and see the world.
No book of this nature would be complete though without a comprehensive glossary of terms used in the industry, words like backlink, anchor text, sandbox, indexing, money sites, SEO, etc. Some of these you may already know, but by the time you've read the Nomad's Guide I assure you they will all make sense.
The MOST important part of the guide however is in chapter 4, the section on finding keywords. When I say this is the most important part of making money online I am not joking. Without good keywords that people search for you are just wasting your time and frankly will never be successful. Janet covers brainstorming keywords, and then goes into great detail about assessing your keywords, for the amount of traffic they receive, the CPC (cost per click), and how competitive the advertisers are.
Google provide an excellent keyword research tool, called the Google Keyword Tool, an appropriate name, and to be successful you need to know how to use this tool, so Janet gives a blow by blow tutorial with screenshots for a series of possible keywords to show what you should be looking for.
However, no keyword is worth chasing if every other webmaster is also chasing the traffic from it, and this is where the real magic oocurs. Chapter 4 also discusses how to use Google's search results page to check the strength of competition. By checking the pagerank and authority of your competitors for your chosen keywords you can easily decide to ignore the keyword, or target it with the intention of profiting.
The next three chapters of the book are directly related to creating your money site and building backlinks to it using a variety of techniques including linking within your own site, and finding other sites that can link to you.
These chapters are the real power behind making money. Some use terms like white hat SEO, black hat SEO, or grey hat SEO to describe backlink building techniques, but in fact these are solid techniques known to work. I won't go into specific details in this review, please just trust me, you're going to learn how the big Internet Marketers get to their number one positions, and if you follow these techniques studiously enough you too could be looking being top of the search results.
By chapter 7 Janet is discussing monetisation methods, including making an income from Google AdSense, eBay, or Amazon products. As well, she covers other affiliate management sites such as Clickbank which is probably the most popular site for anyone wanting to sell e-books, though I've personally never had much luck with Clickbank because I tend to focus on physical products rather than digital products, but thousands of Clickbank affiliates make a very good income promoting e-books and software, so could you.
Once you've discovered a profitable niche, keep at it, why not aim to have ten websites with different monetisation on them, and completely dominate the first page of Google. It can be done, I've done it myself, and this is why the Nomad's Guide to Make Money Online is so powerful. You get real ideas on how to do exactly that. Sure the workload is initially high, but the profits are also high if you follow the system.
Completing the tasks set out in the Nomad's Guide to Make Money Online will put you in the upper percentile of people who wish to make money online and actually know how to do so. Of course nobody is saying it will be easy, for the first month you may wonder when the money will start coming in, but after that you'll see steady increases if you follow the system.
As time goes by you'll also discover other techniques you can add to your arsenal, but as most of the people I coach tell me, they just don't know where or how to start. You can give yourself the edge over others by starting with the digital nomad system now.
Before leaving the corporate world to do my own thing I worked in sales, specifically in sales training and management, and one of the things I discovered early in my career is that networking with other people is the single best way of building your income.
I use the same approach working from home, I network with others, and my income steadily increases month on month. If you buy this ebook I do get part of the profits, however I also increase my network, and this is where we can both help each other out.
After you've started implementing the strategies I teach, or that you read in Janet's book, you'll be wanting to get backlinks for your websites. Backlinks are worth more than money in your pocket now, because they directly contribute to monthly income and ongoing cash flow. Anyone who has ever struggled to pay the monthly bills will know, cashflow is everything, so that is why I offer to exchange links once your website is up and running. Janet promises the same thing.
