You're not going to learn about get rich quick schemes, or multi-level marketing, instead you're going to learn how to create at least one really decent website that will make you an ongoing income for years to come, how to promote your website, and how to find revenue streams that compliment your website, whether it is advertising or referral commissions.

Just by way of example, I know of one person who has a website about Spain with around 50 pages of information who earns €1,900 per month from Google AdSense. Another friend has a hotel review website and earns approx €3,500 per month from commissions. You can do the same, you just need to know how!

Website Basics

One of the first things you need to know is that earning an income using the Internet is not a one size fits all solution, there are as many different ways to build a business as there are people doing it, so go get yourself a coffee, sit back and relax, and let me tell you some of the things you need to know.

The basics of owning a website are that you can break the website into three main components;

• First you need a domain name, this is the bit people type to find you, an example would be www.rondatoday.com
• The next component is the hosting of your website, this is the computer (server) your website is stored on, and sadly you can't use your own computer because you really need a computer that is connected to the Internet 24/7 and has a very fast Internet connection
• The final component of your website is the actual website itself, and in most cases you won't have to do any programming or coding, you'll be using website software that already exists, for example a blog like Wordpress, or an e-commerce site like OpenCart. Don't worry about these too much just yet, we'll come to them later.

The important thing to understand right now is that working from home in Spain is possible, you can be self-employed, in fact you can even travel and still work. I have a friend who has followed my advice, has created several websites, and now lives part of the year in the UK, part of the year in Spain, and still has time to holiday in Australia and Asia.

Ways to Make Money Online

The purpose of this website is to show you how you can start to make money as an expat living in Spain, where getting work isn't easy even if you speak Spanish fluently. Of course you could be living anywhere, and the information I'm sharing is suitable for anyone who seriously wants to build a business making money online.

Website with Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising this is one of the most popular methods of making money online, any quality website can benefit, and the more visitors you get the more money you could make. The trick is to pick a topic with competitive advertisers who are prepared to pay top dollar. Many people choose Google's AdSense program because it is quick and easy to implement, and you can start earning almost immediately.

Commission Referrals also known as affiliate selling where your website promotes a product and if a reader clicks the link and then purchases the product, you get a percentage of the sale. An example of this would be a website with products from Amazon.com, or perhaps a website with hotel listings from Booking.com, either way, every month, if you reach their minimum payout amount you'll get a cheque in the mail or your commissions deposited in your bank account.

Make Money Blogging with Reviews you create several blogs in a variety of topics, and if you have the writer's knack, you could write a blog post every day for each of your blogs, and once they start to attract readers and rank in the search engines for your chosen keywords, advertisers will approach you to write reviews of their products. Each blog post could easily earn you 20€ per review, which doesn't seem like much, but it soon adds up and some people make very good full time incomes from writing reviews. With one or two decent blogs and membership of writer's sites where you get paid to write, it is possible to earn 100€ per day or more.

CPA Lead Generation is one of the oldest money making methods, and it means Cost Per Action. Essentially this means encouraging people to visit another website, and they don't have to buy anything, you get paid regardless. This can be one of the easiest ways of making money online, but the amount you get is usually measured in the pennies, so you need a lot of traffic to your site to make a good income, however some of the top CPA lead generators regularly earn 10,000€ per month or more.

Building and Flipping Websites if you have a skill for creating quick websites including a nice looking header graphic, and you can get quick traffic to a website so that it starts to earn an income from AdSense or other products, you can flip (sell) the website to a buyer who doesn't have the desire to build a site from scratch. A few hours of your time, could result in a sale several months later of several hundred Euros. Here's a quick example, if you can build and promote just 10 quick websites per month, and after 6 months you sell them for 400€ each, that would be a 4,000€ a month income, and yes, some people do this for a living, even holding onto sites for longer so they benefit from the monthly income and the sale price 9 months or 18 months later.

Foreign Exchange Trading (Forex) If you're an expert, or at least very interested in foreign exchange, creating a website that offers tips on how to get started in forex, or offers market commentary, then consider creating a blog for your passion. I recommend creating an account with Currencies Direct who have several offices in Spain, and offer commercial rates of exchange.

However every method of making money requires a good understanding of creating a basic website, and getting enough traffic to be successful.
