A domain name and reliable hosting is possibly the most important investment you can make in your Internet marketing future. Your own domain name gives you complete control of the content you add to your website, and reliable hosting means your site can start to generate an income so you build an asset, much like land or government bonds.
I recommend the following hosting companies because I or my clients use them all, so I know their customer service abilities and how they operate as companies. Generally I recommend hosting plans that allow you to host multiple domains (websites) on the same plan, which makes hosting even cheaper right from the beginning of your work from home career.

If you're serious about making money from owning and managing at least one website you are going to need to find a good domain name registrar that you can trust, and at least one, but perhaps two or three, hosting providers with good service levels and who are easy to communicate with.
A lot of people don't adequately research their options, instead they take the advice of their friends, resulting in purchasing domain names and hosting at prices way above average, for service that is often worse than the larger more established companies. If you plan to invest in building an online business, make sure you also know who registers your domain, and who hosts your website.
After many years as an Internet Marketer, I started in 1997, I can say I know a thing or two about hosting, and they are not all made equal. Some of the best deals really are too good to be true, and the best hosts are often companies that you haven't heard of because they do what they do best, marketing is often a less understood concept.

The EUKHost website isn't much to look at, but their service is unparalleled, in fact I'm so happy with them I host Ronda Today on their servers. Pricing starts from £2.49 per month for beginners, though if you're serious about making money online I recommend going straight to their Gold plan and pay a year in advance, it's only £64.99 upfront and saves you having to upgrade when your websites take off, and they will if you're as committed as me.
The major reason I love EUKHost is their live chat, all of their technical support staff are based in the UK and speak English natively. That is a major advantage for me. I rarely need to contact them, usually it is because Wordpress hasn't installed correctly and I need them to adjust file permissions, but they're happy to take my call and fix the problem.
Once you've bought your Gold plan, you'll login to CPanel, the administration area for your website, and from there you can create email addresses, website sub-domains or use Fantastico to install Wordpress, Joomla, forums etc. It's all very easy, you can even upload files to your website without using separate ftp software. Buy eUKhost gold plan.

Every website you create on your path to passive income needs to be hosted somewhere, and the costs needn't be prohibitive. You could use a free host, but most insist on placing a small yet highly visible advertisement on your site. For complete control its better to pay a few dollars/pounds/euros a month and make sure you're not sharing your traffic or profits with another company.
So, considering how confusing the webhosting industry is, what do you actually need. Well, first you need a host that you can contact. A phone number or a live chat facility so you can deal with a real person in real time, and if they are not based in your timezone, then 24 hour availability is a must.
Pricing may be one of the least important considerations, given that these days pricing includes support and infrastructure, so some of the cheapest hosting companies may not in fact offer good support.
There are thousands of companies around the world who offer hosting, but the vast majority are only resellers, in fact they don't even have their own infrastructure. For this reason I only use hosting companies that I know have their own servers.
Here's a list of some good hosts I use for my websites that I know have their own infastructure and you might like to consider. There are a bunch of other hosting companies out there, but as I said earlier, many of them are resellers without their own servers, this is why the following are my first choice.
A domain name (also known as URL) is the most important part of your business, this is your address on the Internet, similar to your street address, and it should be similar to your real business name. For example, you are reading a page on Ronda Today, that is the business name, and is what people type into the search engines to find this website.
The website address is www.rondatoday.com, which is how search engines track your popularity and determine if you should be on page one of their results. The actual domain name purchased is rondatoday.com, and by having a relevant domain name, I can also create an email address admin@rondatoday.com, that is recognisable when I mention it to people. Notice how everything fits together nicely.
Where to get domain names When buying domain names, I always have several accounts, in fact I have an account with Go Daddy, Namecheap, 123-reg.co.uk, and UK2NET, and I do this specifically so that I don't keep all of my eggs in one basket. My online business is just too important.
The vast majority of people who register domain names look for the international standard .com or .net names, however in Europe we have the advantage of also being able to register .es, .co.uk, .de, .eu, etc. If the majority of your website visitors are Spanish speaking, consider registering a .es domain, whilst if the majority are originally from the UK, then definitely consider registering a .co.uk domain.
Here is a list of some of the bigger and more reliable domain registrars;
HINT: To be a successful online entrepreneur, it is a good idea to make sure you NEVER host your website with the same company that you registered your domain name with. In the event of a dispute with your hosting company they won't be able to hold your domain name to ransom.
